Write Hand Down

Shell diesel fuel gloveSometimes words aren’t needed. Filling the car with fuel at a Shell station, I reached into the dispenser for a disposable glove; I didn’t want my hand to smell of diesel.

I was a bit surprised to find instead that I was holding a plastic bag with a hand shape printed on it.

At first I thought this was a bit naff, but it’s really very clever. The hand shape shows the customer has grabbed the right thing, it’s easy to put on, it’s easy to take off, and it even fits my big paws. Great!

No words to see, but I still read and understood the message very quickly. Very clever. Gotta hand it to them…
